Billing Policy

Payment

Patients typically receive more than one bill for services provided at the hospital. The hospital sends a bill for its facility charges (things like medications, lab studies, supplies, xrays), and a physician (or physician group) sends a separate bill for their professional fees.

The Emergency Department physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners are employed by Pacific Redwood Medical Group and Pacific Redwood Medical Services, and not the hospital. We receive no payment for your care from the hospital. The professional fees from PRMG and PRMS are for the clinician who took care of you or your loved one. As with any professional service, you are responsible for your bill.

Insurance

Although in the past we were able to contract with various insurance companies, because of unreasonable reimbursement practices from insurance companies, PRMG/PRMS does not contract with any of the following insurance companies:
