Our Team

Joanne Nelson, MD

Dr. Nelson is board certified in Emergency Medicine, with special interests in Trauma and Orthopedics, and is a member of the Mendocino-Lake County Medical Society. She has been with PRMG since 2005.

She enjoys teaching, and has served several years as Emergency Medical Services Base Station Coordinator for Coastal Valleys EMS, most recently at Ukiah Valley Medical Center. Her responsibilities include quality assurance and education for local EMS providers.

Joanne loves the ocean and spends lots of time on both Atlantic and Pacific beaches. She likes traveling and has visited every state in the nation, as well as Europe, and enjoys cruising the northern California area on a Harley. In addition, she is fond of gardening, sailing, fishing, and camping. Joanne is an avid reader who prefers mystery and crime novels, and especially likes preparing gourmet meals for friends and family.

Joanne lives in the redwoods on the Sonoma Coast and commutes to Ukiah for weekend work. Her greatest pleasure is home life with her companion Ken and 3 beloved kitties.
