Roger joined Pacific Redwood Medical Group in 1992 after a year stint at Kaiser, Santa Rosa. He was courted to come to Ukiah as an emergency physician by his old friend and past-roomate at UCSF, Charlie Evans, who is now the medical director of Pacific Redwood Medical Group.
Roger has had a lasting interest in ongoing education of our group, providing continuous CME to our physicians and midlevels, in addition to maintaining an up-to-date library in the emergency department. He has also been involved on a hospital level in the development of physician guidelines and protocols for practice in our hospital.
Roger also led the hospital-wide effort to create an in-patient Hospitalist Program at UVMC. He is now the Director of the Hospitalist Service and Intensive Care Unit at UVMC.
Roger has been a world traveler over the years, took a solo trip around the world in 1978, and has climbed in the Himalayas and in Patagonia in South America, has paddled the rivers of Bornea, and crossed the Sahara Desert on his honeymoon (a long story).
His home interests include maintaining a rather large garden, running, swimming, hiking the beautiful hills of Sonoma and Mendocino counties with his wife Celeste and his various friends, and watching with amazement as his two teen-age daughters grow into beautiful young women.
